The Sweatbox is an open access community youth centre based in Wantage, Oxfordshire, supporting young people aged 11-19.

Youth workers are here to help teenagers in any way they can. Teenagers are here to have fun and teach youth workers how to do their job.

What’s Happening at Sweatbox?

Sweatbox is moving!

Sweatbox will be relocating to King Alfred’s West Site, Challow Road OX12 9DU. This affects our Friday Open Nights and our Dungeons & Dragons Evenings.

Be the first to come and see our new home by following us on social media and checking back here soon for the latest dates and times and information on our grand opening.

Our Kingsgrove Open Nights will continue to run as usual on a Monday (term time) from 7th September 2026.

Sweatbox West Site Open Nights

Our open sessions are currently for all young people in our community who are in school years 7-9 only, and our Sweatbox Union. £3 per session, 7pm-9.30pm. King Alfreds Academy, West Site.

Dungeons and Dragons Evenings

Open to school years 7-13. This is a is a fantasy tabletop role-playing game aimed at smaller groups. If you would like to join us for a quieter evening, please email (spaces limited): sweatbox@kas.cambrianlt.org

Kingsgrove Open Nights

Open to school years 7-13. 7pm until 9pm. Tickets are £2 on the gate. Wantage Primary Academy, Rutherford Road, Wantage, OX12 7GQ.

Dates: Monday 7th September, Monday 14th September, Monday 21st September, Monday 28th September, Monday 5th October, Monday 12th October, Monday 19th October.

Sweatbox Youth Workers will be out and about in the community, engaging with groups of young people from time to time. Say hi if you see us!
